A CAT'S DIARY

Day 183 of my captivity.

My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. Maybe I should try this at the top of the stairs.

In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to throw up on their favorite chair. I must try this on their bed.

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little kitty cat I was. This is not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing something called "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit.

The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He speaks with them regularly, and I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.

But I can wait.

True Friends

I was sent a beautiful gift from one of my very best friends not long ago. This person came into my life relatively recently. But the moment we met, only 5 years ago, it was like 2 old souls finding one another. It was an emotion I have never experienced before. The strangest feeling of familiarity and comfort. I thought for sure that I was destined to have this person and his amazing family in my life. I kept my reaction to our meeting very quiet until a couple of years later, when he reminisced our first introduction and explained that when we met, he felt so strongly that we had known each other forever.
Life sends people into our path. We meet them, sometimes we move on, sometimes we begin a friendship and sometimes, rarely, we discover  (or re-discover depending on your beliefs) a friend that has been looking for us as well.
We all need to stand still for just a moment. Still in our movements, still in our thoughts and still in our minds. Close our eyes and think of those friends around us who really matter. How often do we tell them we love them? These friends may be our Family or someone thousands of miles away. Love does not measure distance.
True Friends are rare. True Friends are precious. True Friends are one of Life's greatest gifts. I give Thanks each day for mine. If I do not tell you often enough, let me tell you all now, I love you all.
The gift I received was a beautiful book of Friendship quotes and one quote in particular is a favourite of mine. I dedicate this simple quote to the many wonderful friends that I have in my life, to the simply perfect Family that I have been Blessed with and to the bearer of the gift.

"Oblige with all your soul that Friend who has made a present of his own"

Socrates.

Sending you all Butterflies and Rainbows.

Elephants and Feathers

Do you think gravity has to work twice as hard to hold an elephant to the ground as it does a feather?

Ha

So please understand, it's the same with the principal of thoughts becoming things. The size of your dreams has nothing to do with the likelihood of them coming to pass.
Nothing..

So think BIG

Daughters

There's two things I know for sure ,

She was sent here from heaven

And she's Mummy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all

For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk beside the pony Mummy it's my first ride"
"I know the cake looks funny Mummy but I sure tried"

Oh with all that I've done wrong
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every mornin'
And butterfly kisses at night.

Giving Back

I am so blessed in my Life. I have an amazing Husband who adores me, I have simply the greatest children on Earth ( and yes, I am biased, but who cares) and I love what I do each and every day. I wake up sometimes and pinch myself. How is it fair that I can have so much when others have so little.
I try to avoid the daily news. The media tends to fill our minds with so much pollution. I firmly believe that thoughts become things, I live my life with that motto, so to immerse myself in the misery of the news media tends to invite the wrong "things"into my life. But I do recognize, without having to see it on high definition television, that the world is filled with heartache. My heart breaks for those parents who cannot give their children a daily meal or clean drinking water. There are so many of them. Millions of children across the Globe are dying every year simply because they do not have the essentials that we take for granted. As a parent I cannot imagine having to hold my child while his screaming for food slows to the inevitable lethargy that preludes his death from starvation.
For this reason, and many others, I encourage my children to 'Give Back'. We, as a Family, regularly help raise funds for The AgelCares Foundation. This Foundation helps children all over the world and 100% of donations get right into the hands of those that need it most.
So today, please take a look in the mirror, what do you have in your life to give thanks for.  What can you do to help others and give back?
If we all held out a hand to help others, imagine what a difference that would make.
If you would like to know more about The AgelCares Foundation please go to www.agelcares.org
Maybe you can start giving back today.

Dont just see the Magic,

Engage it! Challenge it! Dare it! Dream BIG, with every expectation that your dreams will manifest.

Demand that they come true! You're not beholden to life, life is beholden to you. You are it's reason for being.

Of course it's true

Everyone is born with a gift. One that will allow them to fill a special place in the Universe that absolutely no one else can fill. A blessing that makes all other blessing's pale in comparison. A gift of incalculable value to the entire world when it's uncovered, explored and embraced.

Yours?

Being you.

Elijah

Now this little guy is one very cool dude. Elijah Jordan or EJ is one of my favourite people in the world. He is my everything. If you could bottle up all that is good and kind and funny in this world, you would need to call it 'Essence of EJ'. He may only be 11 but watch out world. Elijah is one of my first and last thoughts each day. Maybe because he is my youngest, maybe because he is my funny bone or maybe just because he is EJ, but for whatever reason, my world revolves around him.

Taran-Paige

Our Princess. Taran is our only girl with us. She brings such energy to our Family. She is an amazingly beautiful person, both inside and out. Taran takes centre stage regularly as she is so perfectly happy there. Being the only girl, with all the brothers to protect her, life is going to be interesting for her potential boyfriends. As much as she may argue, I know she wouldn't have it any other way. Her smile lights my day, every day.

Luke

To know Luke is to love Luke. He has the one of the kindest hearts I have met. There is nothing Luke wouldn't do for his Family. Everything in life is fun and there is no way to not enjoy yourself while he is in your space. Life with Luke is never dull!  I am so very proud of who he is becoming. He fought to be here and there is a reason he won. I am a better person for knowing him.

Jared

Jared is one amazing guy. At just 22 years old he has already purchased his second house, is engaged to be married to his high school sweetheart, the truly beautiful Natalia and has an awesome job that he has excelled at unbelievably. I couldn't be prouder.

My Family

Having the greatest kids alive comes at a cost. They are always so busy in their own lives that it is a rare event to actually have all 7 of us in one place at a time, with a camera that is. So when these moments present themselves, we make sure we grab them. Life is about grabbing the moments that count and making them last as long as possible.
